本會之名稱是(英文)Hong Kong Institute of Water and Sanitation Safety, (中文)香港水務安全學會。
本會爲非牟利專業機構 。 致力提升安全供水及排水的安全 ,促進業界的專業水平 ,舉辦學術研究及教育活動。凡從事相關專業工作專業工作人士 ,均可考慮加入本會。

凡通常在粤港澳工作 人士 ,持有認可註册工程師/認可註册测量師/博士（包括各级教授及研究員）。認可註册機構須爲中國、香港 、澳門及台湾政府承認 。並受僱從事於水安全有闗行業/工業/職業者 ，對水安全具相關經驗及熱誠品格者，經核實程序可成為本會專業會員 。
